The one-man band:
I grew up in a small town in New England, and moved to the small city of Anchorage, Alaska many years ago. The small-world relationships of accountability and friendship are how I do business.
As an independent designer, I do all the fun, big-picture stuff, and I handle the tedious details. This integrates all stages of a project and makes for a smoother journey to final product. Along the way, I can bring aboard a network of creatives and vendors.
I got my start through newspapers and magazines. After sending to press hundreds of issues, I still love publications for their teamwork, fast pace, and fresh starts. I'm also a reader. I call myself "the first reader" of the publications I work on—and I offer accessory benefits of (involuntary) copy editing and occasional stints as a writer and editor.
